Hello and Welcome!
My name is Mike Steele, originally from Paterson, NJ, but currently living in the Greater Philadelphia Region in Southern New Jersey.
Most recently, I have found myself active in the American Psychiatric Nurse's Association (APNA). I current hold the seat of Treasurer for the NJ chapter and membership on the stearing committee for the national position on Restraints and Seclusion.
From a young age, the art of healthcare & science of medicine were a part of me, as my mother was an EMT. Empowered, I attend Passaic County Technical Institute, focusing on medical arts and balancing with playing the saxophone. The program afforded me both a nursing assistant (CNA) & an emergency medical technician (EMT) certification while being able to learn general Dentistry.
Throughout high school, I taught various health education workshops in many diverse settings. However, service in EMS helped solidify my early interest in mental health. Continuing into college, I held several leadership roles & extra-curriculum memberships including brotherhood in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
While growing as a nurse, I have been affored the opportunity through several roles, of progressive leadership. From these experiences, I have developed a passion for system thinking and team driven results.
I currently hold a MBA and an MSN concentrated in Executive Leadership from Benedictine University, maintaining dual 4.0 GPAs and membership to Sigma Theta Tau, the nursing honor society. I also maintain ANCC certification in psychiatric - mental health nursing.
I am interested in helping people become their best version of themselves. So please, let us connect and see how, together, we may best achieve your goals!
